Chiropody or Podiatry?

The name was changed to the internationally recognised name of podiatry in 1993. Podiatry is the care of the feet and lower limbs. Some problems are inherited, and some develop from illness in middle age, sports injury or from the pressure of ill-fitting shoes.

Podiatrists can treat and advise on the following common foot problems:

  • Ingrowing toenails
  • Fungal infection/Athlete’s Foot
  • Verrucae
  • Chilblains
  • Osteoarthritis
